作品：第一个夏天

我不会停止歌唱，

当知更鸟飞过身旁，

带着春日里的渴望，

飞往阳光灿烂的地方，

我也和鸟儿一样，

让歌声染红了我的胸膛。

但我的歌声不属于你们的夏日，

就像清晨听不到傍晚的吟唱，

我的歌声是清晨埋下的种子，

我知道它还要等待漫长的时光，

就像我知道，它是何等甜美，

又是多么嘹亮。

I shall keep singing!

Birds will pass me

On their way to Yellower Climes -

Each - with a Robin's expectation -

I - with my Redbreast -

And my Rhymes -

Late - when I take my place in summer -

But - I shall bring a fuller tune -

Vespers - are sweeter than Matins - Signor -

Morning - only the seed of Noon –
